Prudhoe Castle First School opened in September 1973. Pupils enter the school in the year of their fifth birthday. After five years, children transfer to middle school.

Prudhoe Castle First School consists of three class groups, a multi purpose hall and a purpose built community ICT room which houses 18 computers with all the associated equipment. We have a dedicated class for intervention delivery and a wrap around care room with access to an outdoor space and separate access for delivery and collection of children.

The school has a small resource room that is used both as a library and a group teaching room. The reception classroom benefits from its own toilet facilities as well as a small outdoor area with a canopy ensuring children can access the outdoor environment in all weathers.

We have extensive playground facilities which are used throughout the year.
