Disability Direct is a small charity, originally founded in Derby. The CEO, Amo Raju, started the organisation as a response to the lack of support he found when trying to source help on a personnal level.
Building on the success of the Derby branch Disability Direct opened a second branch in Nottingham, and teh organisation as a whole is going from strength to strength.
The organic growth of the organisation is testament that there remains a great need for the help and support Disability Direct provides.
Disability Direct is a User Led Organisation which means that we aim to meet the needs of our members in a supportive, non-political, non-campaigning way - this can be by sourcing things such as specialist equipemnt, or helping find ways to fund it; we help our members to gain work experience to showcase skills for prospective employers; support to complete benefit forms...
