Our lovely village in the Conwy Valley
Welcome to our village Faceboook Page, Trefriw is situated in the Conwy Valley in North Wales with the B5106 from Llanrwst to Conwy passing through and forming the High Street. By the bridge is Gowers Road with plenty of free Parking Spaces and the Public Toilets, Carrying along Gowers by foot or by bike you'll cross the River Conway using Gowers Bridge and head into the Market Town of Llanrwst
Back at the bridge area you will see Trefriw Woollen Mill and Glanrafon Stores which sells Newspapers and Groceries and has an adjoining Cafe. Opposite is the Fairy Falls Hotel and Restaurant with a view of the hill that leads to Crafnant Lake. Carrying on through the village the Post Office is on the left just before the Church, as you go round the bend you will see The Ship public house and opposite that is the Butchers who also sell Fresh Veg, Groceries and Pies which can be heated up.
Trefriw has a couple of Lakes above the village which are very well visited: Llyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd you'll see Llyn on the signposts being Welsh for Lake which always comes before the name, so for Crafnant Lake you would follow signs for Llyn Crafnant.
Crafnant Lake where you can walk round or sit and relax in the peace and quiet, this lake being the one flowing down to the village and eventually becoming the fabulous Fairy Falls which is completely free to visit and joins the Fairy Glen as it carries on past Trefriw Woollen Mill under the village bridge eventually joining the River Conway.
Geirionydd Lake can be reached via Llanrychwyn where the smallest Church in Wales is or from the other side by turning at the Ugly House on the A5, either way there are gates to open and close.
The village is approx 5 miles from Llanrwst and 10 miles from Betws-y-Coed, 14 miles from Conwy and it's lovely castle, then a couple more miles and you have the beach and pier at Llandudno.
Trefriw use to be in the county of Gwynedd but changed to Conwy although many companies such as the RAC still state it as being in Gwynedd which leads to confusion as Gwynedd is over near Bangor, even when we tell utility companies it is Conwy they write Gwynedd, but hey we only live here, but this is something worth considering when asking for directions as Gwynedd is not that near!
