The King's Royal Hussars was formed by the amalgamation of the Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales Own) and the 14th / 20th King's Hussars on the 4th of December 1992. The Regiment is a type 44 Armoured Regiment equipped with Challenger II main Battle Tank. The Regiment is stationed in Aliwal Barracks in Tidworth, Hampshire as part of 12 Mechanized Brigade. Since it's' formation the Regiment has completed operational tours in, Northern Ireland, the former Yugoslavia, Kosovo, Iraq and sent sub-units to Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands. It has also completed major exercises in Canada, Poland and South Africa. This year, The Regiment will celebrate its 300 years of existence.
