The beautiful Medieval Abbey Buildings are a unique venue for wedding receptions, concerts or other special occasions and are open for visitors in summer.
The Medieval Abbey Buildings are a scheduled monument owned by the Friends of Abingdon, a registered charity. The Abbey Buildings are open to the public from 1st May to 30th September on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 2pm to 4:30pm. If you would like to visit at other times or bring a group, please contact the Curator on 01235 525339.
The Buildings are also available for hire - as a whole, or in part - by individuals or groups and monies made from rentals are used to look after them. They consist of the Long Gallery, with the Lower Hall beneath, the Unicorn Theatre and various adjoining rooms.
- The Long Gallery is popular for summer wedding receptions, parties and other social events and can accommodate 100 people.
- The Unicorn Theatre seats about 90 and has facilities for plays, concerts, films, lectures and meetings.
Because of the unique nature of the buildings we suggest that you arrange a visit with the Curator to discuss their suitability for your intended event.
