Welcome to Ascot Cottage , the story begins 5 years ago . In August 2009 my offer for the cottage was accepted. I'd spent a lot of that year on Rightmove & driven countless miles , searching for the perfect bolthole that caught my eye & would appeal to other people too. I finally got the keys at christmas - one of the best presents i've ever given myself !!. I estimated about 6 months for a lick of paint & a bit of tiling - how wrong could i be !!. Over 4 years later the cottage now looks like i dreamt it would be. I'll admit to sitting on the stairs amongst the rumble & shedding afew tears & then theres been moments of pure satisfaction. Like when i take Morgan for a walk & i look across at the cottage & it looks so sweet & a hell of a lot better than it did !!.
I did feel nervous about letting the cottage out, you might be thinking because of the wear & tear. But i know that is to be expected, it is the responsibly of creating a great holiday for someone. Luckily i'm pretty well organised & armed with 2 diarys & a wall chart , i'm normally where i should be at roughly the right time.
Ascot Cottage went live on Owners Direct in July, some lovely people have been to stay & their fantastic comments about the cottage are really touching. I know its all been worthwhile & i'm loving every minute of it.
