Ashbourne Netball Club

We are a large, friendly club with many teams varying in age from High 5’s / Years 5 & 6 right through to senior level.

Our aim is to bring in Primary school children starting at Year 5 and as they grow in strength and ability, they will move to the next level of the club. We know that they will have fun, it's great for their fitness and they learn how to play with a team. We also know that more play enhances their skills and those juniors who show talent will also have the opportunity to be considered by Derbyshire Netball in their Satellite or Academy programme. From there they will hopefully follow the performance pathway to Regional, National and for some, even international.
We have training sessions every week during term time, from September until June.
As a club we pride ourselves on our volunteers, making Ashbourne Netball Club what it is today and working to improve it in the future. Our Lead Coach Ruth Sampson is also Derbyshire Netball Academy Assistant Coach and is also a Regional level umpire. Last season we successfully had 3 of our club girls accepted on Derbyshire Netball Satellite programme and hoping to have more success this season. Our Ashbourne Jupiter Team won their division and remain unbeaten since the new year. Our Senior team had success to in coming 2nd in the top division and our old U18 team won the 2nd division.

The structure of the club is as follows:

- High 5’s (Years 5 &6) – training and playing in Derbyshire High 5 competitions
- Yardley Junior League – Year 7’s – Ashbourne Pluto
- Yardley Junior League – Year 8’s – Ashbourne Jupiter
- Yardley Junior League – Year 9’s – Ashbourne Venus
- Yardley Junior League Year 10 & 11 – Ashbourne Mercury
- Yardley 1st Division – Seniors – Ashbourne Gemini
