Ashford Museum - 01233 501372

Housed in a 17th century Grade II listed building, close to Ashford town centre and features exhibits associated with Ashford's history

Ashford Museum provides an important role within the community by promoting the town's fascinating past to local schools, community groups and visitors from across the world.

Housed in a 17th century Grade II listed building, the museum is located in the Church Yard at the Heart of Ashford's Town Centre and features exhibits associated with Ashford's history.

The Museum holds its exhibits on two floors so there is plenty to see and learn about the town's past. It is an important resource for researches and
historians.

The Museum is open from 11am until 2pm Tuesday to Saturday between April and late October.

The Museum was founded during the mid 1980's & was registered in 1989.

The Museum endeavours to provide a free facility for the display of its collections and is purely run by volunteer efforts. Donations are gratefully received.

Become a Museum Steward

If you wish to take an active part in the running of the Museum, a great way to do this and to meet others with an interest in Ashford and its history, is to become one of our stewards.

Stewards normally work in pairs either once or twice per month. The Museum is open from 11am until 2pm Tuesday to Friday between April and late October. If you can spare a day per month to help guide people around the Museum, meet and greet visitors and provide answers to queries then please contact the Curator for more information.

Other Voluntary Opportunities

There are other opportunities that you can take part in at Ashford Museum. If you are handy with a screwdriver or pretty good at computers we would love to hear from you.
