The ADI is a membership association and registered charity dedicated to providing the profession with continuing implant education.
The ADI is a registered charity dedicated to providing the profession with continuing implant education and the public with a greater understanding of the benefits of implant dentistry
Aims of the Association
• To provide post-graduate education for the dental profession in implant dentistry by way of lectures, meetings and journals
• To provide information on dental implants to the public
• To safeguard standards with regard to clinical procedures
• To unite and co-ordinate implant groups within the UK and to facilitate communications internationally
Simultaneously, the ADI published a leaflet providing the UK public and the dental profession for the first time with detailed generic information on Osseointegration techniques. Within months, Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced Osseointegration courses were organised, funds were generated, and extraordinary general meeting called and the Association of Dental Implantology was launched. The ADI was incorporated and charitable status as education body granted in May 1988. The 1988 inaugural international symposium set the benchmark for quality education that long since become the hallmark of all ADI programmes two decades on.
