A long-time amateur boat builder (including winning a class in the Watercraft magazine amateur boat building competition at the Beale Park Boat Show in 2015), Nick Watt trained as a boat builder at MITEC in Milford Haven in 2015/2016 after serving over 36 years in HM Forces.
