A private boys' boarding school (now closed) based in Badingham then Fetcham then Ketteringham taking boys from Common Entrance to "A" Level.. Comments and photos from Old Badinghamians and others welcome.
BADINGHAM COLLEGE was a private boys' boarding school founded in 1922 by the late Rev. James Wilkie at Badingham Rectory at Badingham in Suffolk. Due to rapid expansion a large extension was added to the rectory (which still stands today) but the school continued to grow and in 1926, needing larger premises, moved to Fetcham Park House in Fetcham near Leatherhead in Surrey where it remained and thrived until 1965.
Due to the death of James Wilkie, and then later his wife, the building had to be sold and his son Rev. Alan Wilkie, who had run the school with his brother Colet Wilkie after their father's death, formed an Educational Trust with a Board of Governors and the school moved to Ketteringham Hall near Norwich, Norfolk, but battling against heavy competition from similar established schools in the area, eventually closed in 1968.
