----------------------- BRIEF HISTORY ------------------------

Bank Hall was built in 1608 and later extended in 1832/3 (with an earlier house on site from around 1240)
It has played a major part during WWII and until then was home to many familys over the years, employing a vast majority of the local villagers.
The Estate offices used the building from after the war and vacated in the 1972. Vandals set in as did nature and the condition of the building declined rapidly.
The Bank Hall Action Group (who are a voluntary group) formed in 1995 and have since been campaigning to save the Jacobean mansion house.
In 2003 Bank Hall was the first building to appear on the BBC Restoration TV series, the building got the second highest number of votes in the series.
In February 2011 planning permission was granted for the restoration project and details of the commencement of work is to follow...
December 2011 - The planning permission for the Potting Shed Project was granted.
January 2012 the Friends of Bank Hall (registered charity) took over management of the Bank Hall Projects.
