Bedfordshire Wing Chun Kuen was a established by Sifu Mohammed Akhtar in July 2005, a senior student of Master Shaun Rawcliffe, of the GM Ip Chun lineage.
Set up in 2003 by Sifu Mohammed Akhtar the Bedfordshire Wing Chun Kuen is a regional branch of the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen (MWCK). MWCK was set up by Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe in 1982. The school offers traditional Hong Kong Wing Chun as taught directly to Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe by Grandmaster Ip Chun, the eldest son and senior student of the late grandmaster Ip Man.
The Bedfordshire Wing Chun Kuen branch has 2 schools, 1 operating in Luton and another operating in Bedford. Sifu Mohammed Akhtar began his training under Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe in 1989, in the year 2000 he certified as an instructor and assisted Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe in the teaching of his classes before opening his own school in Luton and Bedford in 2003.
