Welcome to Bell House Hotel in Saxmundham. We are a historic coaching inn, with a rich history. As you enter, notice the flagged hallway. King George II stayed here in 1737 and it’s very likely that he stood upon those very same stones. Bell House Hotel has a reputation for excellent food, good hospitality and comfortable accommodation. Whether you’ve come here for afternoon tea, evening cocktails or dinner in the restaurant, we’re sure you’ll enjoy the fayre. If you stay in one of our individually designed boutique rooms, you can be assured of a great night’s sleep in historic surroundings. The surroundings may have a rich heritage, but you’ll find our fittings and service bang up to date. Wi-fi is available in all our rooms and our restaurant serves up to date cuisine with a European flavour. Call us on 01728 602331 or book online to arrange your stay
East Suffolk has much to offer the visiting tourist. Check out the Suffolk Tourist Guide for more information about local attractions and things to do.
The nearby towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are very popular with visiting tourists as is the pretty village of Snape, home to the famous arts venue, Snape Maltings. A half hour drive or train ride will take you to Ipswich and all it offers.
This part of Suffolk is increasingly known for Summer festivals. In early Summer, there’s the Aldeburgh Music Festival, later on the Snape Proms pick up the baton. For popular music in July, there’s the famous Latitude festival in nearby Henham Park. Why camp, when you can get a day ticket and stay in style at Bell House Hotel? The Aldeburgh Carnival takes place in mid August, while there’s the Thorpness Regatta and Fireworks later in the month. Throughout the summer you can enjoy open air Shakespeare in Theatre in the Forest at Rendlesham.
Although we do not have a private car park for our residents, there is a car park only 1 minutes walk from the hotel. Please call the hotel for directions.
