The Social Club has served the people of Birchanger and the surrounding towns and villages since it was provided by Sir Charles Gold in 1891. His act of Victorian philanthropy gave the village a Working Mens Club and reading room.

You'll be glad to hear that Birchanger Sports and Social Club, has long since thrown its doors open to men AND women. Today it strives to be at the heart of the local community and villages it serves, offering great value food, drinks and enetertainment as well as first rate sporting facilities

Today the Club is thriving, with nearly 550 paid-up members and over 500 life members. Despite this we will always gladly open our doors to new members or indeed anyone wanting to come and take a look at what we have to offer!
