Bishops Stortford Kyokushin Karate Club is a member of the International Kyokushin Organization Great Britain (IKO GB) and is the only Kyokushin Organisation in Great Britain to be recognised by the International Kyokushin Organization, Kyokushinkaikan in Japan and the IKO Europe.
Bishop’s Stortford Kyokushin Karate was started in 1973 and is run by Sensei Mark Kingsland (3rd Dan). The club regularly hosts local and National competitions for Kata, junior knockdown, full contact men’s and women’s knockdown and Clicker, as well as attending International competitions between England, Wales and Scotland. Club members have represented Great Britain as fighters and judging officials in the European Championships and competed at World Championships as well as competed at invitation tournaments in Europe and the Near East. We attend annual waterfall training in Wales, summer & winter beach training on the Norfolk coast, the Winter Camp in Scotland, Senior & Junior Summer Camps and European Summer Camps.
