It is within the medieval walls of Caernarfon, a few hundred yards from Caernarfon Castle.

Our Head Chef Marius Cepoiu joined our Team in 2011 having previously worked for us at one of our former establishments in Anglesey. He has a wealth of experience and excels in international cuisine.
He was French trained for a period and has developed his unique style. He prides himself on being innovate and adventurous where local fresh ingredients take priority in his dishes.
Marius prides himself on the quality of the dishes whether he is preparing one or a hundred. He takes pride in his work (or his creations as he often reminds us) and is always keen to receive feedback from the customer, good or bad.
With the recent addition of Ty Dre, there are now 39 high quality rooms whose residents will want to try our cuisine and we continually assess and review our resident’s feedback.
Please feel free to send an e-mail with any observations regarding any dish or dishes you have experienced at The Black Boy Inn and Marius will be more than pleased to give a response.

The Inn's name has caused controversy[5] and there are least three theories to explain its name. One is believed to come from a 'black buoy' which existed in the harbour in the early days of the Inn. Another refers to the nickname given to Charles II by his mother because of the darkness of his skin and eyes,[6] as well as the fact that Royalists met at the Inn secretly at that time.[2] Later, the place became the local fishermen's favourite drinking place and the name of ‘black boy’ may come from this period. We have 3 sections to the accommodation at the Inn Black Boy Inn itself old and quirky. Black Jacks is a separate building at the Inn in the courtyard which more modern 1900 , and again so is Ty Dre or Town House 300 yards away on separate street.
