Experience the stunning Welsh countryside by staying in one of our two Yurts. Nestled in a two acre field joining onto the gorgeous Llanllwni mountain.
Blanca Yurts is situated within our friendly, family run horse trekking farm. Owned by Ruth and Dilwyn Davies, retired Welsh mountain farmers. As a family, we take great pleasure in enabling others to share and enjoy in what we are so privileged to enjoy on a daily basis- The stunning Llanllwni mountain and it's surrounding areas!
We have two unique Yurts, nestled in a two acre field adjoining onto Llanllwni mountain. We take huge pride in providing a comfortable, cosy and simple experience for all who visit us.
Both yurts sleep up to 4 people, we can also provide a travel cot and high chair for little visitors if required!
They are very efficiently heated by woodburners (logs provided!). Lit by lanterns, candles and solar powered lights which gives a wonderful, cosy feeling during the nights.
Bedding, towels etc. are provided.
There is also a separate kitchen for each yurt. In here you will find everything you should need, including; a gas hob, cool box, pots, pans, utensils etc. We will also provide fresh water. There's plenty of space to store those wellies and hang up coats after exploring the area!
There are compost toilets located near enough to each yurt for quick night time trips but we also have a flushing toilet and bathing facilities on the farmyard! 'The Garage' as we call it has running water, plug sockets and space for you to chill out whilst charging cameras etc.!
Golygfa'r Wyddfa was the first of our yurts to go up. It's name translates to 'Snowdon view', named because on a clear enough day, you can see Snowdon from the door of the yurt. This yurt is kitted out with stunning, unique traditional Welsh wool blankets and sheepskins so you can really get comfortable. warm and cosy!
Heddwch Y Mynydd is our second yurt, which has recently had a brand new canvas hand made for it. It's name translates to 'Mountain Peace'. In here you will find a beautiful, bright and colourful array of blankets, wall hangings and other furnishings to make you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Both yurts are made from steam bent oak with a canvas covering and wood flooring. The 'centre ring' has a clear covering so you can look through and enjoy the skies. They are built on platforms which gives a lovely 'balcony' and that bit of extra elevation to gain the best possible views.
Exploring the surrounding areas you will have 200 acres of open moorland on your doorstep, with many footpaths to explore. Your hosts Ruth and Dillwyn also have incredible knowledge of the area so can point you in the direction of the best spots! The Brecon Beacons are easily seen,on a clear day you can see the Preseli Mountains to the West and even the Snowdonia Mountains to the North. The stars on a clear night are really something incredible too as we are lucky enough to have very dark skies with virtually no light pollution.
We are lucky to have an abundance of wildlife; buzzards, red kites and larks are a common sight. You may even catch a glimpse of a hen harrier, peregrine or the stunning sight of a flock of golden plovers!
We also run Blanca Trekking, our horse trekking business, so you can also explore the area on horseback!
A little further out and you might find yourself on one of the endless footpaths in the 18,000 acres of ancient and managed Brechfa forest.
The local shop is approx. 2 miles away where you will find any ‘basics’ needed during your stay- alternatively the lovely university town, Lampeter is a 20 minute drive away, or, for more shops and things to do, Carmarthen town is a 30 minute drive away.
With a fantastic coast line, West Wales also has several stunning and individual beaches to offer, most within an hours drive of us! In fact, there an endless things to do and see in West Wales, and we are happy to help point you in the right direction to make the most of this beautiful area.
