Bodmin Town Band are an enthusiastic band based in North Cornwall. The Band has a historic past, filled with major contesting success. Yet in recent years the Band has taken a step back from the cut and thrust of Championship banding to focus on playing for enjoyment just as much as a 'victory at any cost'. We have a number of expeienced players around the stands, but encourage youth development as well. We usually rehearse once a week, with additional rehearsals prior to contests & major engagements - our philosophy is to put in rehearsal time at home, not just at the bandroom.

The Band competed at the 2013 Third Section National Finals at Cheltenham (placed 6th), and were promoted to the Second Section from 2014. Promotion to the First Section is the bands aim in 2017 following two excellent results in the previous Regional Contests.

Our 'man in the middle' is the hugely experienced John Maines. John has returned to Cornwall and the band he played with many years ago. He is a true inspiration with the baton and provides so much knowledge and experience.
