Canterbury and Whitstable Young Labour

We are a group of young people campaigning for equality and other basic Labour principles in the Canterbury area.

On 25th February at 5.30 we will be holding our first Youth Meeting at the Whitstable Labour Club (12 Belmont Road, Whitstable, Kent CT5 1QP). This will be the first of a bi-monthly meeting, where we will discuss a mixture of youth issues, with national and local issues that will lead up to the General Election. As a group, we will organise fund-raisers for the local party, whilst campaigning in the area - this will include leafleting and canvassing for our candidates and providing clear coverage of the Election campaign throughout. At our first meeting, we hope to discuss the party's policies and how it affects you. As a party group, we will fight to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, banning exploitative zero-hour contracts and prevent the ongoing privatisation of the NHS, which will give our health-care system over to people who will run it by profit. We will need someone to help organise events and publicise them to the local community.
