Carman Trout Fishery is situated in the hills above Renton in West Dumbartonshire, the fishery is stocked with hard fighting Brown Trout, Blue Trout and also some Rainbow Trout.

Carman Trout Fishery is rich in wildlife, including resident Mallard Ducks, Geese,Buzzards and Kestrels. In summer evenings it is a joy to see the Osprey hunting along the waters edges. All these birds are not only encouraged they are also protected by the Fishery Management.

The Fishery is stocked with hard fighting Rainbow Trout and Blue Trout, the fishery has its own head of Wild Brown Trout and this year some Tiger Trout around the 6 lb mark were introduced. We offer the visiting angler the opportunity to fish from the bank, one of our boats or you may bring your own float tube. There is also wading allowed in the bays at the at the entrance to the fishery.

The loch is about 16 acres in size and has a well established eco system. With its abundance of fly life it does not take the fish long to pack on the pounds. With the right weather conditions we firmly believe our fishery offers the visiting angler the best top of the water sport available in Scotland. During the winter months Intermediate and sinking lines account for many of the larger specimen trout that inhabit the loch.
