Carrowdore Early Years Centre provides a preschool, an after school club and a playgroup for children from 2 years 10 months until the end of primary 7

Carrowdore Early Years Centre is a not-for-profit company that provides free and affordable childcare and education to children aged two years nine months up to the end of primary school.
Our preschool for children in their final year before school is funded by Department Education Northern Ireland (DENI) and operates five mornings a week from 9am until 12.15pm. All our permanent staff are qualified with both the manager and deputy holding a BA (Hons) degree in Education and all other staff holding a level 3 qualification in Early Years Care and Education. They aim to use their knowledge and experience to provide a safe, stimulating environment where children have opportunities to develop physically, socially
and intellectually through the implementation
of a carefully planned play based curriculum
covering the six areas of development, ensuring individual needs are met. We are inspected annually by social services, periodically by Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) and are currently undergoing accreditation.
We also provide a playgroup for children who are not yet in their pre-school year on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Children are eligible to start the playgroup once they reach the age of 2 years and 9 months and the cost is £5 a session.
Our afterschool club operates on the primary school calendar from 2-5.45pm and costs £5 a day. Children have opportunities to relax with friends, play computer games and consoles, access a wide variety of art and craft activities, games and outdoor play and sports. Specific clubs such as sugar craft, art club and sports club also run alongside and within afterschool's provision.
We value partnership with parents and have an
open door policy where parents are welcome
to visit the group. Parents may also take a
role in the management of the group if they
