I had been living in London for several years, so until recently much of my lovely china had been packed in boxes in my parents garage, so when I moved closer to home in Lincs at the end of 2015, I was amazed to find out quite the level of items I have collected over the years!

My love of retro has always spread beyond just the china I collect. Rather than just antiques, my house now is full of retro furniture, or up cycled from my older pieces, rather than buying new.

In fact, even beyond that I tend to be found wearing a lovely fifties number at a wedding, or in Summer (however, in my day to day life as a nanny it's more ripped jeans than flared dresses!)

Having been reminded of a friends wedding a while back with a vintage tea party instead of sit down meal, I was struck with the idea of opening up my collection of china for hire for similar occasions. It's taken me 31 years to build up collection, and it seems a shame for it not to be used and enjoyed on a regular basis.

However, I wouldn't say a mixed tea set is only functional for weddings, I think they could be great for Hen Parties, birthday parties and other celebrations. They could even be used for props for plays or for selling your home! The ideas are countless!

Retro is in- I love it. The question is- what can vintage do for you?
