What is group counselling?
Group counselling is a form of therapy where people with similar experiences/issues come together with a professional therapist. The therapist runs the session, but generally everyone contributes in some way, listening to others and talking themselves. There will be an element of learning involved to improve understanding.

• Will not tell people what to do.
• Helps explores problems with the aim of coping through understanding.
• Is confidential. During the introductory session the client will be made aware of any reasons that would necessitate the leader breaking confidentiality.
Essential Information…
Referral: can be self, agency or by a doctor. Any person’s participation is entirely voluntary.
Cost: The cost to the referral agency or client will be £5 per week per individual, payable at the beginning of each weekly session.
Who will lead the group?
The group will be led by a qualified Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. They will be a registered proficient member of the ‘British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy’ and adhere to their code of ethics;
they will have an Enhanced disclosure and regular Continued Professional Development and Supervision.
