Community Space Challenge is a programme for young people just like you who live in the Tees Valley area (aged 8 to 17).
Its an opportunity for you to take on projects in run down and forgotten spaces and change them into fresh green places for everyone to use and enjoy.
Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough are just 2 of 70 areas Nationally that focus on involving young people growing up in deprived neighbourhoods in learning about the environment, growing fresh food, creating sensory and wildlife community gardens, and linking them into their communities.
Community Space Challenge is not just a one-day makeover or quick fix – it’s a five year commitment. Thanks to over £8 million funding by the Big Lottery it will continue until September 2012, you too can be part of some of the exciting Year 5 opportunities Safe In Tees Valley are delivering.
Safe In Tees Valley are now involved in further work to develop CSC by using practical environmental and public space improvement to bring together young and old in a joint effort to improve where we live by delivering CSC All ages and 12 new exciting projects in Redcar & Cleveland, Darlington, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Stockton.
