Craft Town Scotland

WKCIL established Scotland's first Craft & Design town (now known as Craft Town Scotland) as the core element of a suite of initiatives aimed at revitalising the town centre.

AIMS: Arts & Cultural Development
- to have West Kilbride recognised as a centre for quality and distinctiveness in craft and design
- to stimulate wider interest in the arts, crafts and design and provide a basis for community learning and participation
- to provide studio space and gallery outlets for graduate and professional makers / designers
- to establish and develop a major regional facility that provides craft exhibitions, education and activities
- to attract other artistic and cultural initiatives to the town, to complement the established craft and design businesses

Craft Town Scotland has 8 craft studios, a gallery outlet and a gift shop.

Makers range from those starting out on a career to an established designer maker with an international reputation. Work is designed and made on site and available to purchase direct.

Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Gallery exhibits a small range of exclusive yet affordable craftwork created by some of the most talented professional makers. We regularly feature the work of recent graduates from Scottish and UK art schools.

Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am till 4pm

Our popular gift shop has been operating as an outlet for local crafters for over 10 years. We sell a range of work, including turned wood, stained glass, mirrors and jewellery.

Open Monday to Saturday, 10am till 4pm, except Wednesday, 10am till 1pm

A dynamic new £1.5m development, the Barony Centre will host the very best heritage and contemporary craft and design touring shows from the U.K. and beyond. Visitors will also be able to buy quality craft and design, take part in craft and design classes, enjoy a variety of events and finish with delicious snacks from our café.
