Illuminaire repairs and renovations
Hello, I'm Dave.
I've been a professional electrician for over 35 years, having starting my career as a trade apprentice with the Royal Train makers, at Wolverton.
After completing my training I became part of a large team assisting and maintaining British Rail rolling stock. Whilst at Wolverton, I had the opportunity to learn a variety of engineering skills, other than my core trade, the likes of carpentry, upholstery, metal machining, welding, sign writing to name but a few - a brilliant foundation.
After playing with trains, I went into property maintenance for British Telecom, solely in building engineering services to begin with (mechanical & electrical bits `n` bobs), but later diversifying into all things property and finally ending up as a Facilities Manager, managing everything from mechanical, electrical to cleaning, grounds maintenance and security in BT`s East Anglia estate, circa 2000 buildings.
In 2001 I set up my own electrical contracting business, carrying out a multitude of tasks from full house re-wires to just changing light bulbs.
Due to being diagnosed with spinal arthritis and 3 prolapsed discs, I find some days are a little too risky to climb ladders or crawl through lofts and the like.
Adapting to another of life's challenges, I’ve set up a repair and renovation service, specialising in lighting repairs and renovations, which can be done from within my home workshop.
I'm happy to take on virtually anything, whether it be a wreck of an antique or a modern lighting piece. However, some have seen better days and struggle to be brought into the 21st century, here I'll look at up-cycling, giving life back to something that would otherwise be destined for landfill.
Let It Shine Again.
Thanks for looking.
Dave
