Debbie gained the Foundation degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Myerscough College and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). She also has a BSc (Hons) degree in the same which she gained from UCLAN in August 2015.
During her degree she completed a dissertation which looked specifically at the training methods dog owners can use, and discovered that positive and reward based methods work best.
Debbie is a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), which means having gained the relevant academic qualifications she is now gaining the practical experience necessary for full membership. The APBC is a network of experienced pet behaviour counsellors, who on referral from veterinary surgeons, treat behaviour problems in dogs, cats, horses and other pets.
Debbie is particularly interested in dog behaviour problems and is keen to work and help owners and their dogs resolve any conflicts.
Currently she is undertaking one to one dog cases, via vet referral in her local area; Lytham St Annes, and other surrounding areas.
Debbie is also a qualified Canine First Aider (CFA) so can hep in emergency situations, should one ever arise. Debbie currently has a 5 year old Pyrenean Mountain Dog named Jester, a rescue cat called Annie, and 2 Bearded Dragons. She and her partner are keen to add to their companion animal family when the time is right.
