In May 1996, Steve Peterkin and Lorraine Kilty established the business in Weybridge, Surrey. Diamond Football Company began as, and remains, a family run business.
The company has remained at the same Weybridge headquarters since it was first established.
For the first 15 years of operation, Diamond Football's directors concentrated on developing a brand. This included acquiring a Registered Trademark and developing innovative training equipment for footballers, coaches and officials.
Throughout their history Diamond Football have been conscious of their environmental and ethical responsibility; only using “manufacturer's which use childfree labour”.
In 2012 Diamond Football Company saw the biggest year in its entire history. Along with their products being used by teams internationally, the English National team and the London Olympics, Diamond became official equipment suppliers to the Malaysian Women's Premier League and Mamelodi Sundown's FC in South Africa.
Diamond sponsored FC Nordsjaelland took part in 2012/2013 UEFA Champions League tournament. The Danish team played the likes of Juventus and Chelsea.
Sky Sports used the Pro Trainer football in a television advertisement, promoting football on the channel.
Throughout the company's history, Diamond football have had some high profile ambassadors.
Glenn Hoddle joined Diamond to promote the Coaches Tactic Folder, in 2010.
Premier League club West Bromwich Albion became ambassadors for Diamond's 2012 campaign. The club's Goalkeeping coach Dean Kiely has taken to twitter to thank Diamond Football, in the past.
Alan Curbishley became, and remains, an official ambassador for the company at the start of 2012.7 Other Diamond Football ambassadors include Crystal Palace FC and Fulham FC's academy, both of whom use Diamond Football products to train.
The Diamond brand is known for “regularly producing new and innovative products for footballers” and has established itself as “market leaders in football training equipment”.
This has led to some of Football's best-known clubs and organisations using Diamond products; such as, PFA, FA, Football Conference, Barcelona and Valencia.
