Ditton Priors Commuity Land Trust owns and manages for the benefit of the community the 30 acre site of Oak Farm.

Shropshire County Council approached the community of Ditton Priors in April of 2012, with the proposal of transferring of the ownership of the 20 acre site of Oak Farm, into a community owned land Trust. A steering committee was formed of local volunteers in order to take on the process of researching the practicalities of the village taking on the site.

The project was slightly complicated by the presence of a long established, award winning and council run day care service for adults with learning difficulties which was also in the process of change.

The proposition by the members of the steering committee has always been to develop a sound business plan that benefits not only the community but also allows the day care service to flourish and develop in partnership.
