Downham Market Ladies Running/Walking Club Welcome to Ladies of all abilities

The Dollies was first founded in 2008 following a beginners running course organized by the borough council. We had such fun during the six weeks course that the idea of setting up our own club was born.
The name Downham Dollies derived from a number of ideas from members and represents us as dolly mixtures! All shapes, all sizes, all ages! Whenever anyone mentions the name of the club a smile is worn. Very apt for us!

The ethos of our group is Fun, Fitness and Friendship.

We also now run a walking group which runs along side the Dollies Running Group. Same night, same venue and same time. So if you don't want to run that week or feel that walking is for you then please come along!

We are a member of the association of running clubs ( www.runningclubs.org.uk)
We rung beginners courses with the borough council and also assist and participate in the NHS Park Runs ( www.parkrun.com) held at The Walks in Kings Lynn


CLUB RULES
No Person will be left to run alone
Beginners will be accompanied by a designated support runner
High Visibility clothing is to be worn on winter evenings
Agreed route must adhered to
Routes for winter running to be arranged in areas with street lighting
Members must be aged 16 yrs or over
Have fun

We meet at 6.45pm every Wednesday come rain or shine.
The only time we do not run is if there is ice on the pavements.

In the summer months there are optional track sessions for interval training.
These are to help you improve your stamina and pace.
Don't worry, no one is ever expected to do more than they are able to.


MEMBERSHIP FEES
We do not change a joining fee

6 Months £17.50
12 Months £35.00

Fees are put towards entrance cost for running events, insurance, equipment and social evenings

Dollies Running Tops
We have our own branded dollies running tops either with long or short sleeves available to purchase.
Also, to keep you warm in the winter months there are hats and gloves.
Most of these items can be viewed before buying.
