East Midlands Trains services are usually run with Class 158 Express Sprinter units. The station is about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village, where the Pennine Way begins, with the Nags Head public house being 'the official start of the Pennine Way'.ServiceThe typical off-peak is one train every two hours to Sheffield and to Manchester Piccadilly, provided solely by Northern. This is increased on Saturdays to one train per hour in each direction and on Sundays it returns to being two-hourly.
