Fernhurst School of Motoring started up in 1969 as a family run business and Derek has been responsible for putting safe and confident drivers onto the Lancashire roads for many years. He started his career with the British School of Motoring and is professionally trained to teach all ages of learner driver and licenced drivers who want a refresher course.

Fernhurst also offers theory test tuition and motorway driving instruction – and just as the town driving teaching, this is delivered by kind and patient non-smoking instructors! A unique feature of the driving school is that learners can be taught in their own cars which a lot of people find very helpful and especially for learners of automatic transmission cars. Of course, learners can use a Fernhurst’s well-maintained vehicle if they prefer.
