Fourth State Medicine (4SM) is an exciting company delivering an emerging technology utilising atmospheric plasma to the cosmetic and medical sector. 4SM encompasses Research and Development, Design, Sales, Training and aftercare. With facilities on the Surrey Research Park, and guidance from the incubation hub SETsquared, we have developed a strong business case, and are establishing links that will take the technology to market. We also work closely with our partners from MedTech. Together with the Anglia Ruskin Clinical Trials Unit (AR-CTU) we are establishing our technology and beginning trials in order to measure performance. With strong links and expertise from a number of Harley Street based clinics in the form of HSPS and Aurora, the technology is being refined to meet their high standards. These partners are driving the design and development of the technology to meet their needs, and will be among the first to offer our treatments to the market. Another exciting prospect is the application of this technology to the wound care and treatment in a veterinary context, where we offer a field unit and clinic based unit to provide bactericidal benefit and improved wound healing without the need for drugs. This is both beneficial in terms of cost and care to the animal.

Together with leading professionals in the cosmetics sector, veterinary and microbiology and healthcare we will have this plasma technology available in 2014.
