Friends of Wimbledon Town Centre - <>

We are a group of residents campaigning to protect and improve our town centre for the future

We are concerned that the initial proposals from Crossrail 2 would require much of the destruction of our town centre, the loss of shops and businesses and would change the character of the area forever.

We cherish the mix of homes, parks, shops, restaurants and offices; the lovely grade 2 listed architecture of the old town hall and Prince of Wales pub; and the low height of the buildings which allows the sun to shine through.

Wimbledon is a community and has a lovely spirit, it’s why many residents stay once they move here. We owe it to ourselves to make sure it maintains a proper mix of activities which help sustain our community.
