A season of good old-fashioned family-friendly weekly repertory theatre with a modern attitude to repertoire and production. Started before the war by Cambridge academic T P Hoar, it was taken over in the early 70's by the late Jack Watling.. Subsequently run by his son Giles, and then his son-in-law, Seymour Matthews, it has survived to this day with the help of the Friends of Frinton Theatre, a local organisation that supports and funds the venue (the McGrigor Hall) and provides information and social activities outside the season, whilst raising funds. Membership benefits include a chance to book in advance, with a whopping 15% discount for any season tickets!
