Glen Tanar manages Four beats on the upper stretch of the magnificent River Dee, which have been used by anglers since the 17th Century. All fishing on The Glen Tanar beats is fly based and can be booked by week, part week or day, subject to availability. Fishing with a ghillie is mandatory in spring (March - June), but optional during summer.

The beats on the River Dee stretch downstream from:

Headinch & Cambus O'May (both banks)
Deecastle
Waterside & Ferrar (both banks)
Craigendinnie (Ending just above Aboyne Bridge)

Glen Tanar supports and follows the 'Dee Conservation Code' which is recommended by the Dee District Salmon Fishery Board and the Dee Salmon Fishing Improvement Association.

Trout fishing is also available on Glen Tanar’s well stocked, private loch in beautiful, secluded surroundings. Fly-fishing from boat for rainbow trout and brown trout is available with a maximum of two rods per boat (3 boats on Loch).
