Tour de France – Le Grand Départ is coming to Yorkshire and Great Ouseburn Village is joining in the fun!
Situated on the source of the Ouse on the edge of the Vale of York, tucked in below the YorkshireClick to view a detailed interactive Map Dales, Great Ouseburn is a beautiful Village just off the B6265 south of the market town of Boroughbridge. There is easy access to both stages of Le Grand Départ by bicycle and car, including the first day’s finish in the elegant spa town of Harrogate, and the start of the second stage in the historic city of York.
We are providing space for an outstanding campsite with superb views across to the Hambleton Hills and amenities to match! The Grand Départ Weekend is £60 for 3 nights per tent and £15 per extra person (Please Note: The tent price already includes up to 2 persons), the other nights are £10 per tent and £2.50 per extra person each night.
The village has a Post Office, a beautiful Church with Norman tower and a thriving country pub. There are many walks and cycle routes in the area and you can even cycle into York without going on a major road!
The Village Hall will be providing a bar, a breakfast cafe and entertainment throughout the duration of Le Grand Départ weekend.
From Great Ouseburn, not only is it easy to reach and watch both stages, we are also in the perfect position for you to visit the many attractions North Yorkshire has to offer. From shopping in Leeds and Harrogate, to James Herriot’s Thirsk, and the North Yorkshire Moors & Yorkshire Dales – amazing cycling country!
