HALO in association with HALO Dorset - 01598740502

The Horse Assisted Learning Organisation (HALO) provides courses, workshops and retreats to promote personal development, rehabilitation and wellbeing.

HALO developed to provide programmes of intervention to increase wellbeing, catalyse behavioural change and to support recovery from traumatic life events. We are very different from speaking therapy options. Our interventions provide solution based, experiential learning and this connects with clients on an emotional and physical level in a real time setting. Participants can immediately recognise the impact of unhelpful behavioural patterns, and receive instant positive feedback as these patterns change. It is this that makes experiential learning packages suitable for short interventions; this expediency of practice is more cost effective in terms of input and outcome for the clients and for those services providers who purchase our service.
Christine Fairweather and Jane Bennett are directors of HALO Ltd. We are a unique partnership with backgrounds in horsemanship, teaching, accounting and corporate sales. Also, as qualified Probation Officers we have developed our skills in developing and providing programmes for individuals and groups to meet their own targets for growth and change. It is our understanding of the tremendous impact the bond between humans and horses that drives us to deliver HALO to local, national and international clients.
Christine is also a member of the EAHAE (European Association of Horse Assisted Education) and holds their Train the Trainer qualification. We are both members of EAGALA (The Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) having undertaken extensive training to fulfill the rigorous standards upheld by this agency. We are the only organisation in North Devon to be members of this internationally recognised agency for excellence in equine assisted services.
HALO has four affiliated companies, these are;
• Halo Equilibrium which offers services to increase wellbeing and personal growth
• Halo Right Track will offer services with a focus on education and rehabilitation.
• Halo Horse Play will provide services for families, to improve relationships by developing healthy boundaries and trust. Horse play also offers interventions to children and young people who find it hard to cope in a school environment.
• Halo Right Track provides services to develop leadership skills, team building, and employment and communication skills
HALO services embrace the beauty of North Devon, our rural location and most importantly the human and the bond between horses and humans, as well as the proven successes of this method in working with people to develop greater understanding of thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
