The track is 7 1/4" gauge and is almost a mile in length. Running through a small part of Town Park, the 10 minute journey is a delight for all ages.
Opened in 1979, the railway is run entierly by volunteers, members of the Halton Miniature Railway Society Limited. Trains are normally hauled by one of the Society's petrol locomotives, but on some days members bring their own steam and electric locomotives to run. The fare is £1 per person. The park has a free children's play area with picnic tables, and refreshments are available from the Ski Centre next to the main station.
