Harlaw hill day care centre was opened in Prestonpans to provide care for elderly clients in a warm and friendly environment The old C.O.O.P. Preston branch shop on East Loan was rented and carefully converted to a comfortable standard with all the necessary kitchen, dining, sitting and leisure room areas.All this work was done under the guidance of Dr. Pat Gracie.
The Preston branch of the store was always a bright friendly place ,the main grocery supplier in the locality,and very well frequented by the locals.It was always busy, bustling with life and staffed with friendly helpful people.
