Your Voice, Your Health, Your Care

Healtwatch Southwark is the independent champion for the patient and the public voice.

What we do
- We listen to the needs and experiences of Southwark residents on health and social care services
- We use your experiences to influence the professionals who plan, buy and deliver services so that these can be improved
- We visit health and social care services to find out what its like for people using them and make recommendations
- We provide information and signposting on local health and care services and tell you where to go to make a complaint or to leave feedback

How do we do this?

- We keep Southwark residents informed through our website and enewsletters
- We make it easy for you to tell us about your experiences and get involved in our work, talk to us!
- We use our seats at important decision making boards and have regular discussions with our networks to make sure your voice is heard at the top

Our networks

- We don’t work by ourselves. We work with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who is responsible for inspecting and monitoring the quality of care services
- We work with local voluntary and community organisations to highlight the effects of health inequalities
- We share this information and these concerns with the national body ‘Healthwatch England’
- We have influence through our positions on the Health and Wellbeing Board, the NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group and other places
