Heywood Children’s Charity-Little Monkeys is a Chariy whose aims are to improve the lives of disadvantaged Heywood children giving them chances in life

What is “Little Monkey’s”
A Charity who's aims are to help disadvantaged children & their families with the everyday things that most of us take for granted.

Who is behind the idea?
The idea of Little Monkeys was the brainchild of professionals already working in Heywood with young people. The charity was established in 1999 and the Trustees include a Heywood GP, a practice manager, a health visitor and a local councillor. This is a non-political and non-profit making organisation that has the full backing of all religious denominations in the town.

How does it work?
Money is raised locally by donations; through our charity shop; through sponsorship and other fund raising events. As the charity is run and staffed entirely by volunteers with almost NO overheads, all the money raised is ploughed back into the community and spent on helping disadvantaged youngsters.

How can YOU help?
The long-term success of the charity is dependent on the community itself. It is the fundraising that is essential to the longevity of the scheme and you can help in various ways:
1. Donations of good, clean items that we can sell in our shop or can be passed on to a disadvantaged family.
2. By becoming a customer of our charity shop, where you can buy quality goods at very reasonable prices.
3. By supporting our fund raising events.
4. By organising fund raising events of your own (we will assist you if required).
5. By becoming a volunteer. We can only operate successfully if we have volunteers and are always looking for help in our charity shop.
6. By sharing our Facebook page with all your “friends” – we need all the publicity we can get.
7. By monetary donations either a one-off or (if you are a standard rate tax payer) through Gift Aid.
