Hurst Green Community Centre is located in Hurst Green behind the shops in Pollards Oaks Road. It is a charity run centre, so everyone is welcome. The original centre was built
by local volunteers in 1947 on another site. The current building was erected in 1976 on Council-owned land. The costs of building the Centre were covered entirely by voluntary subscribers from the Hurst Green area. Day to day running costs are covered by the fees paid by those who hire the Centre.
Many local groups and organisations hire the Centre on a regular basis, including:
Little Oaks Pre-School (every weekday during term time), Mighty Oaks Youth Club (every Friday evening), Dance & Exercise groups – Ballet, Street Dance, BunnyHop, Badminton Club, Yoga and more.
The hall may also be hired for private parties, wedding celebrations and more! It has a stage, piano, crockery, full gas central heating, fire & smoke detection units throughout, kitchen and an additional room with bar facilities (please note a licence required).
