We bring together industry, academia and health professionals to drive innovation in the NHS for the North West Coast. www.innovationagencynwc.nhs.uk
The Innovation Agency is one of 15 AHSNs established by the NHS in England during 2013/14 and covers a population of 4 million residents in Cheshire, Merseyside, South Cumbria and Lancashire; an area we know as the North West Coast.
The Networks are a product of the Government's Innovation, Health and Wealth strategy. Their primary role is to form a network of NHS organisations, universities and businesses and achieve measurable results in the following key delivery areas:-
To identify and address unmet need/ priority improvement areas
To speed up the adoption of innovation
To identify and enable research
To create economic growth
AHSNs will ensure that innovation is spread at "scale and pace" with consequent benefits for the health and wealth of individuals, communities, regions and the nation.
As an AHSN our aims are to improve health and create wealth, and enable to NHS and academia to work together with industry to identify, adopt and spread innovation and best practice. These aims are more achievable by working with the other 14 AHSNs in England as a network.
To highlight our shared goals and case studies the AHSN Network has launched a website: www.ahsnnetwork.com. The website features case studies, patient safety collaborative plans, events and more.
