We sell live snails. Our snails are collected by hand on the remote Hebridean island of Barra. They are not farmed but are collected from our grasslands, fields and meadows, where they are abundant.

Barra is an island in the Outer Hebrides located to the West of Mainland Scotland. We have a pristine environment which ensures the quality of food grown on the island is excellent.

Our snails are not farmed but are collected from the crofts and machair lands, where they grow in abundance. We harvest the snails by hand selecting only those which have finished growing.

Reviews of our snails suggest that while they tend to be smaller than snails of the same species (Helix aspersa), collected or farmed on the mainland, they more than make up for this in a taste which reflects both the rich herbage of the machair meadows but also a saltiness reflecting our maritime climate.
