Jackdaw Boxes restores/sells Antique Wooden Boxes. We offer a Restoration Service to clients - and also have a web shop where you can buy restored boxes.

Jackdaw Boxes is a cottage industry - we work from a cottage workshop in Somerset, restoring Antique Wooden Boxes. Customers often send us e-mails with photos of their boxes and requests to give their boxes a new lease of life. We build up a specification for the work they want done, and when they have decided on leathers, papers, finishes, etc. we send them an estimate. If they are happy with this, we ask them to send us their box, or drop it into the workshop if convenient. We let them know of progress, sending photos of the finished box when it is ready to send back. We can then courier it back to the owners, or they can collect from us.

Visits to the workshops are by appointment only - contact us by e-mail to arrange a visit. We are flexible and will try to fit in with your schedule - evenings, at weekends and Bank Holidays if we are about.
We charge £15 per hour for labour, plus materials. Postage is generally £15-£20 for a medium to large sized box, which covers packing and courier charges.
