JMS was formed in 2011 in Devon as a result of the increasing demand for Vocal tuition which offered an ‘Examination Graded syllabus’ and a wide ‘Performing Arts Curriculum’.

“Jay”, the stage name for Joanna Waller, was formerly part of IMS (Interface Music Services) until the demand meant that JMS would be a more viable service on its own (IMS still exists and is a partner of JMS). With a method of teaching based around the Trinity "Rockschool" exams and the newly devised GSA (Guilford School of Acting) Exams.

JMS offers coaching that will develop Technique as well as build on Vocal Repertoire within a performance environment all within a fun atmosphere!

In the past JMS has provided services for the Nationwide “Razzmatazz” Theatre School which teaches Vocal, Drama and Dance, together with the Torbay Youth Theatre Group (TYTG) which stages annual Musical shows – ‘Hairspray’ Oct. 2009; ‘Fame’ Oct. 2010 (The Little Theatre); ‘Footloose’ Feb.2012 (The Palace Theatre). Jay was also invited to take over and run a Theatre School in Torbay the ‘Torbay Acting Factory’ (TAF) in 2012.

In conjunction with ‘IMS’, studio services are available, which will provide quality backing tracks, to a personal specification of pitch and length and at a very competitive rate.

JMS also provides cabaret for all your entertainment needs. Whether it’s a pub, club, hotel, holiday park or for a special event JMS can offer a solo cabaret and also acoustic artists. JMS can provide street dance tutorials, choreography and general stage movement.

JMS became a successful music and teaching service in Devon and in April 2013 will also be teaching in Southend, Essex. JMS is ahead of the business of Vocal and Instrumental teaching and is glad to offer fun tuition of quality with a wide performance curriculum to compliment.
