EASTER REVISION - 7th to 11th April 2014

Kidlington Tutors will be running a number of A-level Easter revision courses from Monday 7th to Friday 11th April 2014 with two major differences to other revision courses on offer:

- Named Course Tutors - you will know who will be leading the revision course before you book, along with details of their teaching experience

- Guaranteed maximum group sizes - no more than 4 students (set by individual tutors) - small class sizes allow for a pupil-centered approach which will enable tutors to effectively address specific areas of concern

Each course will be organised and run by an experienced classroom teacher from their own premises. Please see the individual subject pages for full details of the dates, levels, location and transport arrangements as set by the Course Tutor.

Kidlington Tutors only works with educators who have experience and a track-record of success in teaching their subject. Tutors offering courses are highly motivated, appropriately qualified, and familiar with the demands made upon examination candidates. They are able to draw on a variety of experience in preparing their students to achieve the highest marks. A-LEVEL RETAKE PROGRAMMES

Providing an alternative to Oxford’s Tutorial Colleges but with the guarantee of no more than 6 students to each Personal Tutor, Kidlington Tutors has the educational experience to actively manage your retake programme and your university application to support you to success. We can offer the advice and guidance you need after results day, coupled with the understanding of how to actively support you through your studies.

Managed retake programmes have individual tuition at their core, coupled with the oversight, guidance and educational experience of a Personal Tutor to help you gain the success that you are looking for. You will receive individual tuition based around Oxford whilst your Personal Tutor will be available by telephone & email, and of course in person, to help to ensure that your tutorials run smoothly and that you are well prepared for your final exams.

For the academic year 2014-15, there will be no more than 6 students allocated to one Personal Tutor to ensure a high-quality, personalised service and excellent lines of communication at all times.

Our tutors are primarily experienced mainstream educators or individuals who have demonstrated both a passion for their subject and an affinity for educating young people. Whilst a strong academic may indeed make an excellent researcher or lecturer, an educator will be able to pass on the meaning of a concept in multiple different ways, in order to suit the way their student thinks or to find an alternative explanation when needed. We believe this is of primary importance when we meet and select our tutors.

The success of any retake programme will lie in whether any previous conceptual problems are overcome through re-teaching, and whether or not the exam questions are accessible to the candidate which will depend on past paper practice to hone exam technique. Your tutors will know that they should plan their time with you to cover both the teaching and practice of concepts in the specification.
