After demands from the community for a high quality education provider, Kip McGrath Edmonton has finally opened and will join the 250 plus Kip McGrath Centres operating in the UK who are successfully involved with helping students master English, Mathematics, Reading and Spelling, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and Science.

Joanne Castello, the Centre Director, is a qualified teacher with a PGCE and a Masters of Teaching from UK’s top Education establishment the Institute of Education (IOE). She has experience as an examiner, having recently marked A Level papers for two Examining Boards. While her training was in Business and Economics she has also taught Maths and English and is currently working as a Special Educational Needs teacher. Her teaching experience enables her to rapidly pinpoint children's areas of need and establish the most effective ways to help them succeed and thrive educationally.

When does your child need tutoring?

o They wish to Excel in their current studies (aiming for 11+ results)

o They are having trouble keeping up in class.

o They have been placed at tables with other students who are less able or they are in the bottom or lower set of the class.

o They have difficulty completing class assignments in the allotted time period.

o When their class is divided into groups, i.e. reading groups, they are consistently in the lowest group.

o They consistently receive failing or below average grades no matter how hard they seem to be working, whereas before their grades were improving or holding steady.

o Caught in a cycle of frustration and failure and show an increasing lack of confidence and motivation. The comment frequently heard is “I hate school”

o They have lost interest in learning.

o English may not be their first language.

o They experience extreme anxiety before tests and exams.

o Their teacher reports to you that they are acting out and becoming a behaviour problem in their class.
